Competition rules

Summary of the rules for all events sanctioned by Coin Spinning International and the Coin Spinning League Europe.

Classic

The longest spin wins. Time runs from release until the coin lies flat. Three attempts per round, the best attempt counts.

Precision

The coin must remain inside a marked 20 cm circle for the whole spin. A spin ends when the coin leaves the circle or lies flat.

No contact

After release, neither the coin nor the plate may be touched. Any contact ends the attempt with no time recorded.

Coin

All competitions use the 2-euro coin (25.75 mm, 8.5 g). Coins are drawn by lot before each round.

Plate

Standard glass plate, 60 × 60 cm. Plate temperature is measured and recorded before every round (from the 2026 season).

Timing

Electronic timing, recorded to hundredths of a second. Ties are broken by the second-best attempt.
